In the two years since embarking on his solo career and the release of his debut album, Passing Strangers, Phillip Island troubadour Mark Howard has cemented his place as a captivating force in the music world. Touring extensively across Australia, New Zealand and the UK, Mark’s performances have left audiences spellbound. His music has been described as a sensual, cinematic fusion of alt-rock, folky blues with a peppering of alt-country, driven by a swampy groove.
2024 saw Mark release three singles, all of which soared into the top 10 on the AMRAP charts. He has shared the stage with iconic Australian acts like Tash Sultana, Tim Rogers, The Whitlams and Alex Lloyd and has been a featured performer on ABC Radio multiple times.
Mark’s highly anticipated new single, Under Her Spell, was released worldwide earlier this year. A sparkling pop rock gem, it offers another taste of his forthcoming album, Deep Dark Blue, which is set for September release.
Wanderer, mercurial frontman, and dusk lit storyteller, Mark Howard is a voice from the edge of the map and shaped by the grit of 45 countries’ worth of stages, his songs walk the line between alternative rock, folk and country.
Tipping his hat to the likes of Michael Hutchence, PJ Harvey, and Robert Louis Stevenson, Howard holds a room and howls vivid tales of motion, memory and the human mess.
Recognised with accolades from prestigious festivals like the Edinburgh and Adelaide Fringe, Mark’s artistry is a testament to his talent.
“Few artists come close to the sheer level of charisma and magnetism this artist exudes... Everything he does is absolutely effortless, and his discography is full of evident hits.” – Dreamy Paradise (USA)
